Tandarts.
De hematoloog besluit dat het moment daar is om naar de tandarts te gaan. Ook al is mijn weerstand nog niet goed, we moeten zorgen dat het gebit goed is om toekomstige problemen te voorkomen. Ik maak een afspraak bij mijn tandarts in Nieuwegein. Ze is betrokken bij mijn ziekte en vraag door de telefoon belangstellend hoe het gaat. Op korte termijn kan ik langskomen voor een controle afspraak.
Ben erg benieuwd hoe mijn gebit er voor staat. Als je weken lang op de IC (aan de beademing) ligt te vechten voor je leven, krijgt het gebit niet de hoogste prioriteit. Daarna blijk ik langdurig een zwaar vitamine D tekort te hebben en tenslotte heb ik ook nog heel lang grote hoeveelheden prednison geslikt. Beide goed voor botontkalking en dus ook niet goed voor het gebit.
En ja hoor. Ik lig in de stoel, er worden 2 foto’s gemaakt en dan gaat het los met de controle. De assistente kan het nauwelijks bijhouden zoveel gaatjes. Als ik na afloop om het aantal gaatjes vraag moet er geteld worden. Oeps, 8 gaatjes…….. 
Ik troost me maar met het feit dat ik nu in ieder geval mijn gebit mag laten repareren. We maken 3 afspraken van ca 1,5 uur, en ook nog een extra afspraak bij de mondhygiëniste om te voorkomen dat er nog meer gaatjes bijkomen.

De eerste afspraak is op korte termijn. Er is de afgelopen tientallen jaren al het nodige aan mijn tanden en kiezen verbouwd, en ik hoop dat het meevalt. Om een lang verhaal kort te vertellen. Rampzalig. Met pijn in haar hart meldt de tandarts me dat er 3 kiezen moeten worden getrokken. Eentje waar een kroon op zit en 2 die als pijler dienen onder 2 bruggen links en rechtsonder in mijn mond. De kiezen zijn zo slecht geworden en niet meer te redden. Voor het trekken verwijst ze me door naar de kaakchirurg. Natuurlijk wil ik die in het UMCU hebben, zodat deze met mijn hematoloog kan overleggen over de nodige voorzorgsmaatregelen. Pff, en dan te bedenken dat ik vorig jaar een week voor ik leukemie kreeg nog helemaal gesaneerd ben. Nou ja, het is niet anders.

Fysio.

Tot nu toe is er nog geen oorzaak gevonden van de vermoeidheid. Omdat mijn spieren achteruit gaan, besluiten we dat ik 2 maal per week ga “sporten” met een groep ex-kankerpatiënten bij de Fysiotherapeutenmaatschap Woerden in het Hofpoort ziekenhuis. Ik ken de methode al omdat ik daar ruim 3 jaar geleden ook aan mee heb gedaan om mijn conditie te verbeteren. Eerst een intake van een fysiotherapeut die ik nog ken vanuit de periode dat ik zelf in het ziekenhuis heb gewerkt. We nemen de hele ziektegeschiedenis (en medicatie) door, en als je het achter elkaar vertelt, merk je weer hoeveel we hebben meegemaakt.
Twee maal per week zal ik een uur gaan trainen op de hometrainer, crosstrainer, loopband en met gewichten. Per keer houden we bij hoe het gaat, zodat ook de voortgang inzichtelijk wordt.

Uitslag fietstest.

We melden ons 1,5 week na de fietstest bij de longarts voor de uitslag. Mijn longcapaciteit is 79% van wat normaal is. Oorzaak ligt in de IC periode van vorig jaar. Op de scan van het vorige jaar staan enorme beschadigingen, zelfs zo erg dat hij verbaasd is dat ik er nu weer zo bij zit. Mijn lichaam heeft voor een deel kunnen herstellen. Beter zal het niet worden. Het kan niet de oorzaak van de vermoeidheid zijn, maar zal wel een beperking blijken als ik weer ga sporten. Eerder moe en minder uithoudingsvermogen.

Tour de France.

Het zal niemand zijn ontgaan. De tour is gestart in Utrecht en is door onze gemeente Montfoort gekomen. Tuurlijk zijn we even gaan kijken. In eerste instantie wilden we bij kennissen langs de weg van Oudewater naar Haastrecht gaan kijken. Heel gezellig, alleen durfde ik het niet aan. De weg is van 11-16 uur afgesloten en dat hou ik gewoonweg niet vol. Onderweg naar een plek dichterbij kwamen we vrienden tegen met familie langs het parcours. Dat was een leuk toeval! We mochten mee en hebben ook van heel dichtbij, in de schaduw en op luxe tuinstoelen de tour langs zien komen. 

Tijdens ons bezoek aan het UMCU werden we er op geattendeerd dat een aantal wegen rondom het UMCU tijdens de tour zijn afgesloten. Voor de zekerheid maar even een foto gemaakt van de poster met de bereikbaarheid van het UMCU er op. Tja, helemaal zeker dat alles bij mij goed blijft werken en er niets acuut gebeurt, zijn we nog niet…..

I want to thank you … I want to thank you, I have Panic disorder and agoraphobia, I’ve been on MANY meds over the years, I no longer drive (havent for years) I’m in my mid 40′s, at one time in my life I didnt leave the house for 6 months, stayed mostly on the couch or in bed, always having panic attacks– severe! I was heavy into karate, have a couple national titles– panics took the toll. I’m off of meds now- trying natural way. Their high $ contracts belong to players who are still top talents (Kobe, Pau, Bynum) and cutting ties with one of their mid-level contracts (Ron, Blake) don’t get them below the tax line (not to mention Ron still has value as a defender). So, ultimately, I don’t see them using it. But, they’d have through the life of this CBA to use it but can only do so on a player who was under contract with them when the CBA was agreed to.
