Op verzoek van Dolf zorg ik, Marjolein, voorlopig voor zijn blog.

Koorts

Weer een nacht met hoge koorts. De hoeveelheid antibiotica in het bloed (de spiegel) zal bepaald worden om te kijken of er wel genoeg antibiotica wordt opgenomen in Dolf’s lichaam. Er zijn ook nog veel bacteriën in zijn bloed. Er wordt nog gekeken naar de mogelijke besmetting van de lange (infuus) lijn.
Die koorts moet nu wel snel overgaan. 

Controles/ bloedwaardes

Bloeddruk 120/60 polsslag 100
CRP (ontstekingswaarde) 195
Hb 5,1
Leuco’s 0,2
Trombo’s 6

Vandaag 2x transfusie bloedplaatjes, want de eerste had slechts voor een stijging van 2 punten gezorgd.
Dolf heeft heel veel puntbloedinkjes door het ernstige gebrek aan bloedplaatjes. Dit zorgt voor veel jeuk, waar weinig aan te doen is, alleen insmeren met vaseline geeft iets verlichting.
Vanavond 1x bloedtransfusie voor de rode bloedlichaampjes.

Mondkapjes

Op de afdeling zijn mondkapjes beschikbaar. Als Dolf van de afdeling afgaat voor onderzoeken o.i.d. krijgt hij een mondkapje voor. Ook medewerkers en bezoekers die twijfelen over infectie luchtwegen/verkoudheid moeten een mondkapje voor doen. Dit alles met het oog op de kwetsbaarheid van de patiënten.

Voorlichting stamceltransplantatie (sct) 

Vanochtend een afspraak met de sct-verpleegkundige gehad. De planning is besproken: de volgende chemokuur begint 6 mei, stamceldonatie zal ongeveer op 15 mei plaatsvinden, eventueel een dag later.
(Vertraging kan veroorzaakt worden, doordat de donor bijvoorbeeld nog niet genoeg stamcellen heeft geproduceerd.) Daarnaast is het behandelschema besproken: welke medicijnen, wanneer en waarom…

De sct van Dolf is een “allogene stamceltransplantatie”.  Dit betekent, dat zijn eigen stamcellen niet gebruikt kunnen worden, maar dat hij afhankelijk is van een donor die stamcellen wil afstaan.

Er is geen geschikte donor in de familie, dus er moest verder gezocht worden.
Stichting Europdonor helpt bij het zoeken van een geschikte donor. Deze stichting zoekt wereldwijd naar een geschikte donor (www.europdonor.nl).

Voor Dolf zijn ze er heel goed in geslaagd: op dit moment zijn er 3 donoren opgezocht, benaderd en bereid om Dolf te helpen. Alle 3 jonge mensen, die hopelijk sterke, gezonde, actieve stamcellen kunnen afstaan. Dit gebeurt anoniem. Wel heb je de mogelijkheid om via het sct-team een bedankbrief te sturen.

Het zal nog moeilijk zijn om onze dankbaarheid onder woorden te brengen. Het donorschap van deze jonge mensen is Dolf’s enige redding. Zonder hun stamcellen zou hij zeker overlijden.
