De laatste controles, maandag 13-2, D-Day!

De titel van mijn vorige stukje is inmiddels overgenomen door heel veel media 😉
Vooruitziende blik ?

Vandaag om 14 uur het laatste reguliere controle bezoek gehad. Weer een half uurtje van te voren laten we bij het lab  dmv een vingerprik de bloedwaarden bepalen. Ben zelf een beetje verkouden geworden, en denk dat mijn weerstand verder aan het afnemen is. Tot onze verbazing zijn de waarden echter gestegen :
Rode bloedlichaampjes = zuurstof 6.5 (was 6.1) Hb
Witte bloedlichaampjes = weerstand 2.6 (was 1.8)
Bloedplaatjes = stolling 178 (was 165).
Deze schommeling is volgens de arts normaal en past bij het beeld. Ben in ieder geval blij dat mijn weerstand niet lager is geworden. Zou het toch door de rust en het sporten komen ?

We hebben eigenlijk nog maar een vraag aan de arts. Wat is de uitslag van de beenmergpunctie van 2 weken terug? Deze bepaalt de zwaarte van de chemo volgende week. Zitten er leukemiecellen in mijn beenmerg dan wordt het een zwaardere chemo. Gelukkig is deze uitslag positief en zijn er geen veranderingen ten opzichte van de vorige punctie in september.

Eigenlijk had ik nog een vraag, maar deze heb ik niet durven stellen (jaja, dat overkomt mij ook)  “Hoe erg is het als ik iets breek met schaatsen, kan dan de transplantatie niet door gaan?”
Eerlijk gezegd had ik al besloten om niet te gaan schaatsen. Ik kan nooit een tocht schaatsen met dat kleine beetje energie, en mag natuurlijk helemaal nooit het risico van een val/breuk nemen. Maar het ijs ziet er zo mooooooi uit 😉   Volgend jaar maar weer op de schaats. Nu genieten we vanuit de auto of te voet van de mooie natuur.

De voorbereidingen voor mijn opname zijn in volle gang. We hebben allerlei praktische zaken gekocht die nodig zijn. Denk bijvoorbeeld maar aan een aantal zachte tandenborstels, maar ook aan een elektrisch scheerapparaat (mocht ik de chemo’s een handje moeten helpen). Scheren met een mesje mag niet ivm infectiegevaar.

Nu de uitslag van de botpunctie bekend is geeft de arts aan dat ik na de transplantatie toch zeker wel 3 weken in het ziekenhuis moet blijven. Met de 10 dagen chemo er voor zit ik dan toch op ruim een maand ziekenhuis! Is het medio maart als ik naar huis kan: LENTE!

Dik 30 dagen in het ziekenhuis. Behoorlijk wat mensen hebben aan zien komen dat ik veel tijd over heb en me boeken gegeven. Ik heb ze bewaard voor in het ziekenhuis (en erna) en verheug me erop om ze te lezen. Steve Jobs biografie, Bonita avenue, Mark Rutte is lesbisch en vandaag nog een prachtig boek gekregen over Route 66. Route 66 is zo’n bijzonder verhaal. Het boek bevat heel veel foto’s van vroeger en nu. Zelfs de tekenfilm Cars is hierop gebaseerd. Erg boeiend. Dank aan iedereen!

Mocht ik een keer geen fysiek boek kunnen lezen, maar wel luisteren dan heb ik nog 2 luisterboeken op mijn telefoon gezet, Millennium en De Moker. Op alles voorbereid dus.

Het aftellen is begonnen. Nog een paar dagen. Zorgen dat ik niet ziek word en me dan maandag om 11 uur melden in het ziekenhuis. Vanuit het ziekenhuis zal ik dit blog bijhouden zodat iedereen op de hoogte is van de ontwikkelingen. Eventueel kunnen Marjolein of Jeroen er ook een stukje op zetten.

Without a spring to push the beater down it does not scrape the sides as clean as it should. I found a spring that fits and I’m now very happy with the performance. Kitchen Aid does not include the spring because it would be hard to keep clean.
